Well, we got a prize!

 —  01/03/2010

Hello readers,

Back in December, Nick Butler wrote a post about how we were finalists for an award at the inaugural Onyas awards.

Well, we crossed our fingers, squinted our eyes, and in the end we’d won it! Our corporate web presence: http://www.doc.govt.nz won the award for Best Corporate Content, and we’re mighty pleased with the result.

The web team in all their glory

Nick, who is the Website Supervisor here, accepted the award on behalf of our Web Team, the 50 web publishers, and the 400-odd contributors behind them. In a hat tip towards Twitter, the winners’ speeches were to be no longer than 140 characters, something even our Spokesbird would have trouble doing!

Our shiny new award!

A special thanks goes out to all our web publishers and contributors, we couldn’t have done it without you, so cheers!

An Onya, wow… congratulations, Nick and the team. I’ve been researching Sirocco material for our grandaughter’s school presentation here in Melbourne. Its possibly been more fun for me than her as I have followed DOC’s conservation work on your site.

      Hi Cate,

Thanks a lot for your comment, as you can imagine, we’re stoked! It’s a real honour for us in the Web Team, and especially for the wider group of content owners and web publishers (we’ve got heaaaps of content!)

But thanks again, its great to get feedback like this, and it’s much appreciated.

      Cheers
      Sam O’Leary
