This week’s photo of the week was sent in by Teresa James, a ranger in DOC’s Golden Bay Area Office.
Here is a pretty cool heart I found on rocks at Kahurangi Point coastline (on the West Coast of Golden Bay)
These baby mussels are spreading the love, having naturally formed themselves into this shape on the rock. The mussels attach themselves to rocks and solid structures with strong, elastic threads secreted from a gland in their foot.
