New Zealand’s rifleman—an illustration

Elizabeth Marenzi —  13/12/2014

DOC’s Team Lead, Graphic Design, is tying the knot today—in the beautiful Blue Mountains of Australia.

Before she took flight we shared a special morning tea with her and, amongst other things, she was presented with this card.

Rifleman/tititipounamu (Acanthisitta chloris).

The picture on the front is of New Zealand’s smallest bird—the rifleman or tītitipounamu.

Riflemen are a monogamous species, with long-term pair-bonds. They only replace a mate if one of the pair dies.

The card was designed and illustrated especially for the occasion by DOC Graphic Designer, Alana McCrossin, and was too lovely not to share (so I asked nicely if I could).

All the very best for your big day Bron.
