Today’s photo of the week is our royal cam albatross chick and dad ‘BK’ at Taiaroa Head.
The chick needs a name, so we’re taking suggestions for the next 10 days. Tell us what you think the chick should be called here for a chance to win a trip to visit him or her (we aren’t sure which yet) at Taiaroa Head in Dunedin.

Wow! What a stunning photo! Our class of Year 2s have watched the chick since it hatched out when school first begun in February. It creates so much discussion. We have done art work, written reports, discussed Royal Albatrosses. Even I have learnt so much. Now we especially enjoy seeing the parent birds come back to feed the chick. Sometimes we have some anxious kids thinking that the chick has been left for too long. Room 5 at Greenmeadows School, Napier
