Our photo this week is of the Antipodes Island pipit – one of the special species unique to the subantarctic Antipodes Islands.

This week, the Million Dollar Mouse ships depart for the Antipodes. The team will carry out major pest control operations over winter, aiming to eliminate the estimated 200,000 mice from the island.

The operation will allow at risk species like the Antipodes pipit to thrive. Here’s information about the operation at a glance.
